Who We Are

Our Team

Dan Freedman

General Manger

Dan Freedman is a PhD chemist with 35 year of university experience as an educator, research chemist and as a science and engineering dean. He was the founding director of the Hudson Valley Additive Manufacturing Center at SUNY New Paltz and has over 10 years of experience with CAD and 3D printing.

Aaron Nelson

Aaron Nelson makes things that are hard to make. Trained as a metalsmith, he came to computation through fabrication, not the other way around, and that order of operations matters. He moonlights as Associate Professor of Digital Design and Fabrication at SUNY New Paltz, where he also serves as chair for the Department of Design. With 15 years of experience, his work spans CAD, computational geometry, additive manufacturing, fabrication, and the space between a model and something you can actually hold. He holds a BFA and MFA in Jewelry and Metals.

He lives in the Hudson Valley, NY with Bird, his blue merle border collie, who is very good and probably wants a toy.

Kat Wilson

Kat Wilson is the Director of the Hudson Valley Additive Manufacturing Center and instructor in the Digital Design and Fabrication Program at SUNY New Paltz. Kat has over 15 years of experience with art, design, CAD, 3D printing, scanning and mesh modeling and a variety of other fabrication technologies. She holds a BFA and MFA in Jewelry and Metals.
