Up and Printing

Our mission at Freedman, Nelson and Wilson 3D Printing and Design LLC (FNW3D) is to broaden the routine access to 3D printed objects to a much wider range of fields. The incredible range of 3D printing processes and materials available means that it can solve many fabrication problems, including ones that cannot be readily solved by any other method.

When 3D printing exploded into the public consciousness over 15 years ago, there has a great deal of hyperbole regarding its potential impact. All manufacturing would be by 3D printing, we would make spare parts for our washing machine at home, we would be eating 3D printed food, etc.. Not much of that has come true, but we do have some lovely articulated dragons. Use of 3D printing has significantly expanded in manufacturing, particularly for prototyping and jigs and fixtures, and in particular fields where low-volume, high value and custom parts are needed – aerospace and medical are the most obvious. However, our experience in starting and running the Hudson Valley Additive Manufacturing Center at SUNY New Paltz for over 10 years has shown that 3D printing can be used in many other types of fields and businesses. We supplied CAD/design expertise and how they integrate with 3D printing to develop solutions for just about every type of business you can think of. We can take an idea and bring it to life.
